OBITUARY

Robert Muldoon

On Tuesday last death removed a well-known and highly esteemed resident of this district, for on
that day Mr. Robert Muldoon, of Dolly’s Flat, near Wingham, died at the Macquarie street hospital,
Taree, to which institution he had come for medical treatment.

He had been ill for some time, and was submitted to an operation on Thursday of last week.

From the nature of his illness his friends did not have much hope of his recovery when the disease became
acute, still, his death, in the prime of life, was a severe shock to his relatives and a host of friends.

The deceased gentleman was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Muldoon, a fine old couple who live at Tinonee.

He came to Tinonee with his parents more than 35 years ago, and had lived in the district ever since.

He was an industrious, careful man, one who made a success of his life, and retained the warm esteem of the people with whom he
came into contact during life’s activities.

He was 54 years of age.

The late Mr. Muldoon left a widow and four children, the youngest being 13 years of age — Misses Isabel, Mona, Alma, and
William.
The brothers of deceased are: Messrs. Thomas (Tinonee), and William H., and David C., of Taree; John, of
Sydney, and Aaron, who lives in West Australia.
The sisters are: Mrs. J. Halford,, Gladstone (Macleay River), and Mrs. Wallis, of Morpeth.
The remains of deceased were laid to rest in the Tinonee cemetery on Wednesday last, in the presence of a large gathering.
