Elizabeth Muldoon [nee Dumbrell] 1844 to 1939

The Wingham Chronicle and Manning River Observer Tuesday 2 May 1939

Obituary.
MRS. ELIZABETH MULDOON.
The death occurred at 6.30 on Thursday afternoon, at Mayo Hospital, Taree, of Mrs. Elizabeth Muldoon, a very old resident of Tinonee.
On the 20th of last month she passed her 97th year.

Her husband, the late Mr. Thomas Muldoon, died some 17 years ago.

Deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dumbrell, of Clarencetown, where she was married 76 years ago.

They lived in that district for some 21 years and came to the Manning 55 years ago, settling at Tinonee, where she resided for the

balance of her life.

There she was widely known and made many friends.

Of a kind and charitable heart, she drew people to her who remained friends till the end of her days.

Some seven weeks ago she had a fall and fractured a hip bone, and was taken to Mayo Hospital where she slowly became weaker.

For the last couple of years she had been in failing health, which was only to be expected with one of her advanced years.

She is survived by the following family: Mrs. J. Halford, of Taylor’s Arm; Mr. Aaron Muldoon, of Tinonee; Mr. W. H. Muldoon, of

Commerce Street, Taree: and Mr. Dave C. Muldoon, of Kempsey.

The last-named some three weeks ago underwent a serious operation in Kempsey Hospital, and although he had returned to his
home he was too weak to make the trip across to see his mother.

Deceased members of the family are: Messrs. Robert Muldoon, of Dolly’s Flat, and Messrs. Thomas and John, of Tinonee; and

Mrs. J. H. Wallis, of Morpeth. Mrs. Halford came across from Taylor’s Arm on hearing of her mother’s serious illness.

Mr. Albert Dumbrell, of Stockton, and who lived in the Tinonee district for a number of years, is the only surviving brother
of the late Mrs. Muldoon.

The funeral took place on Friday afternoon last, the remains being interred in the Tinonee cemetery, beside those of her
late husband.

Rev. L. Ayscough officiated.
