The Wingham Chronicle and Manning River Observer Wednesday 28 Apr 1915

Obituary.

MRS. H. C. KIDDLE.

It is with regret we have to announce the death of Mrs Rachael Kiddle, wife of Mr. H. C. Kiddle, master of Tinonee Public School.

The late Mrs Kiddle contracted a bad attack of influenza, a few days back bronchitis and pneumonia supervened, and she breathed her last about midnight on Sunday.

Warm hearted and sympathetic, she was beloved by all with whom she was associated ; a good wife and tender mother, her interests in the young particularly endearing them to her.

This was touchingly manifest by the large proportion of the boys and girls present at the graveside, when on Monday afternoon her mortal remains were laid to rest in the Church of England burial ground at Tinonee.

Despite the short notice, the funeral was attended by a large and representative throng, amongst whom were Messrs E. J. Layton, B.A., and D. Drake (Taree District School), Rev. S. P. Stewart, Ald. M. Parker and S. Whitbread (Town Clerk), W. B. Morris (Secretary M.R.D. Hospital), J. Brett (Forestry Department), H. W. Davis (Manager Bank N.S.W.), (A. E. Smith (Manager Commercial Bank), Captain Gollan, and many other leading district residents. Rev. H. Kitley, Th. Sc., who was assisted by Mr. Buckland, conducted the service at the grave, at the conclusion of which he delivered a short and sympathetic address. Mr. E. Munn, of Taree, had charge of the funeral arrangements.

The late Mrs. Kiddle was 49 years of age.

She leaves a son (Mr. John Kiddle), now serving with the Australian Expeditionary Force in Egypt, and a daughter, Miss Sybil Kiddle, to mourn their loss.

We join with their numerous friends in sympathising with Mr. Kiddle and family in their bereavement.
